Fault handling methods in the braking system of loaders

here, take the caliper disc brake system widely used in Wheeled Construction machinery as an example to explain its common faults and troubleshooting methods

1. The barometer pressure rises slowly

main reasons: (a) pipeline leakage; (b) The air pump is not working properly; (c) The check valve is rusted and stuck; (d) The oil drain bolt of the oil-water separator is not closed tightly or the pressure regulating valve leaks

Troubleshooting: first, eliminate the pipeline leakage, and then check the working state of the air pump after having time to check the air. Remove the air outlet pipe of the air pump and press the air outlet with your thumb. If the exhaust pressure is low, the air pump is faulty. If the air pump is in good working condition, check the oil drain plug or pressure regulating valve of the oil-water separator to avoid bypass and eliminate the fault through inspection. Finally, check the two one-way valves in the three-way connector. The stuck one-way valve will cause the air reservoir to fail to air or slow air intake

2. Insufficient braking force and weakness

main reasons: (a) brake oil leakage; (b) There is air in the brake oil circuit; (c) The oil seal of the wheel hub is damaged, and there is oil stain on the Tong disk; (d) The brake is seriously worn and the friction surface is burned; (e) The air pressure in the air circuit is adjusted too low

the above faults can be eliminated by repairing, adjusting or replacing parts according to their respective causes

3. Deviation after braking

the direct cause of deviation is the unequal braking torque of the wheels on both sides. Common fault causes: (a) the brake caliper disc is seriously greasy, and the friction system is seriously reduced, resulting in unbalanced braking torque. At this time, the greasy dirt on the brake caliper disc should be removed; (b) The slave cylinder piston is stuck and cannot work. Step on the brake at a standstill, observe the working condition of the wheel cylinder, and disassemble and inspect as appropriate

4. Braking card

fault phenomenon: the loader starts and walks hard. After parking, touch the caliper disc with your hand, and the caliper disc is hot. Main reasons: (a) the friction plate is worn and thinned, the dust ring is damaged and water enters, and the piston is rusted and stuck; (b) The return spring in the booster pump is weak or broken, and the high-pressure oil cannot flow

5. Fault phenomenon: when stepping on the brake, oil mist ejects. Causes: (a) the brake light switch is damaged, and high-pressure oil is sprayed from the switch interface. It can be solved by replacing the switch. (b) To ensure reliable results, the length of piston rod of booster pump is too large. This situation may occur when replacing the booster pump assembly. The reason is that the adjustment of the piston rod is too long, which causes the piston stroke to be too large when the booster pump is working, and the brake fluid flows back to the booster pump from the oil drain hole and ejects. During installation, the working stroke of the piston should be measured to determine the length of the piston rod. In 1992, China began to force the installation and use of automotive safety belts
